Theatre in found spaces  New stories in digital spaces  Education and Community everywhere

VISION

We believe that Arts and Culture are a vital component of regeneration, and Claybody is committed to playing a key role in the future prosperity of Stoke-on-Trent.
Drama has the power to rebuild confidence, ambition and empathy, and to engage a truly diverse community of participants and audiences.
In developing The Dipping House, a found space on the old Spode Works site, our vision is of a meaningful arts and community venue, offering flexible and affordable space for a wide range of beneficial activities.

MISSION

Claybody Theatre shapes new and ambitious drama from the unique cultural heritage and contemporary lives of the people of Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire.
We are an arts organisation and charity, working in respectful partnership with local people and organisations, to create work that integrates professional artists with community participants.

VALUES

Our core values of relevance, respect, representation and access are reflected in our commitment to diversity and inclusivity in everything we do.
We believe that to engage meaningfully with Live Drama, all people and communities must see themselves reflected in work of the highest quality.
Telling stories that are rooted in place and local identity is the keystone of our work. Presenting this work in dynamic found spaces that are meaningful for communities breaks down cultural barriers, enabling full access for all.
In the work that we make, and the way that we make it, we are dedicated to seeking environmentally responsible and sustainable methods and practice.
The visibility and availability of our core team to audiences, participants and volunteers at every stage of the creative process, including before and after performances, is a fundamental principle that encourages shared ownership and pride in the high-quality work of Claybody Theatre.
