Where were you on 2 September 1967? Did you see...  Bright Lights Over Bentilee?

A UFO in the night sky!

‘It seemed like a saucer…’

‘The object started to glow bright red…’

‘We thought the field was on fire…’

‘We couldn’t hear a bird – everything was dead…’

‘I thought I was seeing things…’

Claybody Theatre is researching a new play inspired by this incident.
Do you have your own UFO story? What's life like on Bentilee today?
If you’ve got a story to tell, please get in touch.

Hi I was too young to view the incident at bentilee however I do have an interesting ufo book that details ufos over the staffordshire area including the bentilee event if that is of interest. "Flying saucer report" by Roger Stanway and Anthony Pace. Nearby was also the case of Jessie Roestenburg in 1954 (also detailed in another book i have) . I am not a firm believer in these phenomenon but I'm agnostic about every subject as I believe it's a healthier approach to life. If you would like to view the books or get more details im happy for you to be in touch. Kindest Regards, Craig Worrall

I was at a funfair at forest park Hanley. I looked up and there was a saucer hovering in the sky with coloured lights around it glowing. I was speechless and then watched as it sped off at an almighty speed. I am sure it was the funfair lights that attracted it and then it sped off.
